What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

D.A. Bennett Service Experts is here with a couple of the most typical cooling problems in Albany.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your A/C equipment operating but there isn’t cool air blowing, you could need to have your refrigerant levels evaluated. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air blowing from your system is actually cool. Call D.A. Bennett Service Experts and we’ll come out and review your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not producing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

A reason your condenser fan may not be rotating could be that it simply burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity could cause more condensation so an additional matter to watch for is that the water is not draining properly or that the drain is obstructed. If you can confirm these things, you may be able to pinpoint the issue; if not, give D.A. Bennett Service Experts a call and we can find out what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and go over your options to get your system working again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try decreasing the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds silly but sometimes we neglect the obvious. If that doesn’t get your system cooling, take a look at the air filter. If the air filter is dirty, it could cause major cooling problems. Another thing that could cause your lack of cooling is that your AC equipment is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. D.A. Bennett Service Experts will come out and perform an analysis to determine if the size of your equipment is causing your problems.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off continuously, it could mean one of multiple things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and requires cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all clogs removed, you may be all set. Remember that humidity also plays a piece so if your home cools to the correct temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm up again, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the system is having to work harder to keep your home at a lower temperature.

No matter your trouble, whatever AC trouble you run into, D.A. Bennett Service Experts is here for you all day, every day so we can get your home comfortable quickly.
