Service Experts Donates Over 300 Pounds of Food to Minnie's Food Pantry

August 20, 2016

The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Headquarters Office in Plano, TX was honored to contribute more than 320 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in the Texas city.

“Last September, I had the ability to get a group of people to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was an unbelievable experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They do so much more than just collect food – they are a critical part of this community.”

Cheryl Jackson began Minnie’s Food Pantry as a way to celebrate her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent many of her childhood years wondering if and where she would receive her next meal. Minnie’s doesn’t just provide free, healthy meals to families in need, they also hold classes to teach families how to incorporate the food they get to cook nourishing, long-lasting meals. They also provide resume aid along with budgeting and job classes to help families get back on their feet.

Since the families receive approximately 50 pounds of food to get them through the month, Service Experts was able to feed six families for the month.

“Each member of the team was so ecstatic that we had this food drive for them, and they even showed our group their incredible facility,” Wilson said.
