Painting Vans Pink in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

September 27, 2016

In October 2016, two Service Experts centers will be turning heads with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are each going to paint two of their company vans pink for the fight cure breast cancer.

For the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be contributing 20% of all sales from their pink vans to Summit-based Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help fight breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be contributing 5% of all sales from their pink vans plus $10 for every furnace tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second time Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted multiple vans pink to fundraise for this great cause. In 2015, Fras-Air raised over $7,000 for Komen North Jersey. General Manager David Schneider and one of his workers both lost their mothers to alternative forms of cancer and were motivated to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute says that 107,184 women in New Jersey faced breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider said. “While the number of cases is actually going down each year, that still represents a significant number of families who are struggling with this disease, and there is still an immediate need for research and support.”

Service Experts of Raleigh’s General Manager, Chris Overton, echoed Schneider’s sentiments. “As reported by the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the leading type of cancer in North Carolina – for women and men.”
